This wouldn't have helped my sister, necessarily, because she never smoked and so wouldn't have tripped this particular risk warning. But still, for you ex smokers out there.Annual CT scans of current and former heavy smokers reduce the risk that they will die from lung cancer by 20 percent, a huge government-financed study has found.
Something else about lung cancer:
Lung cancer claims about 160,000 lives each year, more than the deaths from colorectal, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers combined. In most patients, the disease is discovered too late for effective treatment, and 85 percent of those who are diagnosed with lung cancer die from it.
I'm glad there was government funding for this study before the troglodytes take us back to the dark ages.
It only works if we can't see your tongue in your cheek.
I just don't tire of this: What's new is that someone posted it in HD.
My sister Lynne passed away six months ago. I'll point you to some things that others wrote about her. Lynne's friends and family provide a compelling portrait of a person who loved her children, her community and her God.
I miss her every day.
